Yeah, tickets now available for the July 28th-30th tapings.
"DRESS CODE: SINCE THIS IS THE DAYTIME VERSION OF THE SHOW PLEASE EVERYONE WEAR BRIGHT COLORS, NO HATS AND NO LOGOS!!!"
Bright colors? There's hardly any crowd shots in the daytime version anyway, so why bother? Surprised they didn't ask everyone to wear DOND t-shirts or something...
Does that mean the dress code was different for the primetime version or something?

MY MOM'S GOING TO AUDITION!
We just got an e-mail confirmation telling her to go to the Marriott Hartford Downtown either on Friday (10th) or Monday (13th) for the morning or afternoon.
This will be so cool if she gets remotely on television! Whoo!

I let my mother do it. I like to stay behind the scenes, I think.

Turns out this week (July 13th Week 34) is Lottery Winners Week. The contestants got on the show via a lottery scratcher ticket offered in various state lotteries. Anyway, the week got off to a great start as Monday's contestant had the $100K and $250K cases as the final two cases. She took the $175K deal but had the $250K in her case.
The week ended with a whimper though, as Friday's contestant had $200 as the highest case with six cases left. He won the $200 in his case.
Interesting tidbit from the credits this week:
"Contestants appearing in the lottery week of programming were cast from state lottery winners who won trips to Los Angeles to participate in DOND non-broadcast game show experience.
Of those participating state lotteries, some required that one or more winners be included in the pool of eligible contestants appearing on the program."
So apparently not all of the lottery winners had a chance to be on the show this week...

So apparently Season 2 is starting on Labor Day, September 7th? I ask this because my NBC affiliate (KNTV) is preempting *four* of the five episodes that week! Are full episodes available for viewing online anywhere (not just clips)?
I managed to watch 167 of the 170 episodes in Season 1. One I forgot to tape and two of the four episodes that my station preempted were never reran.
It's unlikely that I will see anywhere close to that percentage this season. My NBC station has been preempting DOND for informercials lately. :-(

Well, the episode I was in was #25, which will air in mid to late October. I don't remember how you figure out when it airs. I just know that it was the episode I managed to sit in the audience for.

If the season starts on Labor Day, then Week 5 is Oct 5-9, and episode #25 would be Oct 9 if there are no interruptions and they show the episodes in order. Maybe there's a week of reruns or there's another week in between to make #25 land later in the month...
EDIT: Howie confirmed on Letterman tonight that Season 2 starts on September 7th (Labor Day)

I saw my first episode of Season 2 today because my station KNTV preempted the show yesterday for golf Noticed a couple differences: 1) Skyscraper buildings in the background (I think that's new) 2) No fade to black before credits roll (also it's shorter too) My station KNTV has been preempting DOND every week since the beginning of August. Writing to the station was no help, so kinda lost interest in the show. I'm taking a break from DOND for now...

The skyscraper buildings in the background aren't new. They were in the Culver set also.

Did you ever look at the male/female contestant breakdown last season? It seemed like there were more females than males, at least for the first half of the season, anyway...

I understand that this fall that MyNetworkTV will be half-hour syndicated runs of Deal or No Deal. I checked the listings on a MyNetworkTV station, and Deal or No Deal begins Tuesdays starting Sept. 29th. For the first week anyway, the first half-hour is the same episode that's syndicated for that day (9/29), so essentially a same-day repeat. The second half-hour is a repeat from last season.
