www.dealornodealtv.com/So, there will only be two models for this: Patricia and Tameka. Everyone else involved will be random audience members, kind of like in the UK version. Top prize will be $500,000 and the penny will be back. Anything else you'd like to share? Put it here. Feel free to make a few new threads in the process while you're at it.

And just like the UK version, there are 22 cases instead of 26.

And the names of the contestants are right below the stands where their cases are held. The models (Patricia and Tameka) collect the opened cases.

I liked in the second episode that nobody was shuffled inbetween commercial breaks. Everyone basically stood where they did for the entire thing. So if you were in the back row to begin with, you were stuck up there until your case was picked.

What I like about the daytime version: - no supporters to gab about
- no celebrities to slow the game down
- no extra chit-chat Howie makes
- no perks
- fewer cases (22) and models (Patricia and Tameka)
- concentrates on the game itself, which explains the half-hour format
Bottom line: This is the game in its purest fashion.

A cool feature to the new sydicated show is the new "split-screen" feature with the DOND logos descending. The left side (a little narrow) of the screen is the contestant for the day. The right side shows a briefcase opener as s/he is opening the case. That happens a few times per show Hope they'll incorporate it to the NBC primetime version soon.

Bottom line: This is the game in its purest fashion. Those are neat things to say about the syndicated daily version, and that the bottom line is focusing more on the game itself. Plus, its faster paced; good for a 30-minute show. Your definitely right about all of the above!!
My good takes on the syndicated version after watching Monday thru Thursday of premier week so far:
- the new split-screen feature
- the decision of keeping or switching your case before the game actually starts
- the $10K weekly giveaway and to join the DealorNoDealClub.com (link provided from dealornodealtv.com)
- most of the same people are still there in the same position opening cases, assuming that s/he did get called down to play based on the luck of the wheel
- and last, but not least, I can't forget that I have 5 days/nights per week of looking at Patricia (10+ nights if you count the NBC primetime version & the CNBC reruns)
We will see what Friday brings us as we wrap up premier week, and look forward to Monday, September 15th. New dresses for the models? A new group/pool of 22 contestants, or do they carry over from Week 1? Find out next week!!

Monday, September 15th
Well, I just answered my last message. Here we are in the 2nd week of the new daily version, and yes there is a new group of 22 contestants / briefcase holders to start. A new contestant waiting backstage would fill in the last vacant briefcase position for the Tuesday show, another one on Wednesday, and so forth all the way to Friday. No contestants carryover from Week 1 or "Premier Week."
A new studio audience loaded in at Culver Studios for this week? Sometimes, I am too keen on this observation of the studio audience for every show because, as viewers, we're all focused on the game itself and the contestant going for the big money, whether on this version or NBC. Tameka & Patricia are each wearing different dresses (the famous banana-colored one) than last week's plum/purple-colored. Now, I know how lovely this week's dress looks on Patricia !! I'll keep on dreaming, night after night!! Finally, Howie changed shirt colors. Last week he had two different shirts. I'm sure he'll wear at least two or three shirts per week.
So, I'll know what to expect every Monday. New week of "Deal"? Definitely!! Will I watch everyday? Of course!! I'll give or take a few eps due to after work functions, errands, etc.

Wednesday, September 17th
I get a single-run version of "Deal or No Deal" for WOIO-TV 19 (CBS) Cleveland at 7:30pm EST. I had to miss tonight's episode due to a work party function that I had to attend. Did I miss anything exciting? Any highlights of the game? Thanks!!

Week of September 22nd - "Baby on Board Week" (currently in rerun for the week of 2/23/09)
It is now the 3rd week of the new syndicated daily version. How you all doing over there? Anyone cash in on those $10,000 cash prize giveaways playing "Deal's $10K Giveaway" (this version's "Lucky Case Game") already? Honestly, I'm not that lucky, but play everyday via the show's website at dealornodealtv.com, and hopefully you'll win $10,000 for that particular week.
Anyone got tickets or already seen a taping of Deal or No Deal, either the familiar NBC primetime version, or the new daily syndicated version at Culver Studios?
What do we have this week? You guessed it right. At the gallery where some of these contestants will play for up to $500K are expectant moms. They're all pregnant and are about to have their first child. Some will be moms again for the 2nd, 3rd time and so forth. Good luck to the moms up there on stage, and wish you all the best as you start families. Win lots of money especially to start that kids' college fund!!
Speaking of expectant mothers, the NBC version crowned its first millionaire, a "mom-to-be" named Jessica Robinson who played her game w/ 5 $1M cases. It aired on Labor Day 2008, but after viewing clips online at nbc.com, buzzerblog.com and other official game show-related websites, I got so spoiled big time. Why? WKYC Channel 3, the NBC station in Cleveland, pre-empted this episode for a Cleveland Indians baseball game played at home. Dumb brats!! For any reason I hate the Tribe this year, than any other year!! I'm still waiting for CNBC to air the first two weeks of Season 4, which were both pre-empted due to Indians baseball on Channel 3.
Time to get a little childish, folks!! Here's the poem everyone wants to hear. ;D Patricia & Mark sitting in a tree. K - I - S - S - I - N - G !! First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes little (insert any name for our 1st child) in the baby carriage!!
What I mean as a name for our first child, I don't mean "Howie." Enough said!! ;D

Week of September 29th - "Small Business Week"
sponsored by: Hewlett-Packard
Welcome to Week 4 of the daily version. In our gallery, our contestants opening the cases this week are people who own small businesses. So we'll call this the week of "Small Business Owners." The sponsor for this week is Hewlett-Packard, and yes one of my old computers that my family owned in the '90s was a Packard or Packard Bell.
Five of them will get to go on stage with Howie and play for up to the top prize of $500,000 hopefully to expand and globalize their business.
Businesses nowadays do need to grow. Think of what's going on with this financial crisis the last few weeks. Stocks plummeted. CNBC is on 24/7 for updated news about Wall Street and this shake-up. Not that many "Deal" reruns on CNBC air during a work week. Hopefully when the mess is done with, we'll rebound just in time for November's critical Presidential election.
Back to the gallery. Did I say Hewlett-Packard was the sponsor for this week? Well, filling in for the $10,000 gold block on the big board, is the HP logo. Five of these small business owner contestants this week will each win a computer/work office package valued at $10,000 and the prize is displayed in the show's vault. To win the prize, the logo has to be in any contestant's briefcase for each show once it is opened. If it's in your case, you win!! Plain and simple!!
Back to business, folks!! Speaking of owning businesses, Howie's wife owns a beauty shop somewhere in Hollywood. Some of the other models have small businesses of their own when they're not modeling or opening cases.
Now to a possible business. Give us a possible name or a type of small business that Patricia and yours truly, Mark, would like to start. If I'm going to be falling in love with her seriously and working with her, I'd go w/ an talent agency for celebrities and models, and we would be mostly based out in L.A. and reaching to other cities like Chicago, Cleveland, New York, Miami, etc. Large clientele, perhaps!! And I'll hire Tameka & Marisa to manage the secretarial work & finances, and coach the new clientele.
You ever watched the reality show "Beauty & the Geek"? I'm sure you know which one I am--the geek!! Just your average guy, folks!! And hopefully be in the arms of a beautiful woman someday, like Patricia!! So we'll call the business several choices of names (and these names are just imaginary or made up):
Beauty & Geek Talent Agency PatMark Talent Productions (always put the ladies' name first before mine) PQM Talent Agency (the first letter of my last name is in the middle) P/M Productions P & M Talent Services
And you can make up some of your own names for a possible business venture, and successfully make 6 figure incomes. Just don't be to greedy!! Always "love" & "family" go first!!

Week of October 6th
sponsored by: Evian Water
To start off this week, I missed the Monday & Tuesday shows because I had to work late. I came back to watching the Wednesday & Thursday shows and will wrap-up this week tonight at 7:30 on CBS 19.
After 2 weeks of themed-episodes and then last week of giving away small business products from HP to 5 lucky small business owners, Deal or No Deal is at it again w/ the sponsors. This week it is Evian Water.
The Deal Wheel to select the contestant for the day this week has had a minor change to the device. Instead of the wheel spinning / ball bouncing that we're familiar with, a replica of the Evian Water bottle was placed in the middle of the wheel and one of the models (Tameka or Patricia) would spin that bottle. The top of the water bottle represented the pointer/flipper to determine the contestant for that day. Remember the game "Spin the Bottle" back in elementary school? That moment reminded me of playing that childhood game. When Patricia spun the bottle and landed on my lucky number, I was wishing she would kiss me. But enough about that!! Beer bottles, maybe!! Save that for the adult version. Back to the game itself!!
On the big board, the $1,000 gold block was replaced w/ the Evian Water logo. Anyone that opens up that logo in their briefcase will receive $1,000 and a year's supply of that bottled water. Five of these contestants will be lucky this week, as they not only win the cash and water, but also they can rack up to $501K. on their own. Good luck to that!!
Remember that 8 glass (or four 16.9 oz. bottles) a day of water will keep everyone hydrated and healthy. Please remember to recycle those clear plastic bottles for the environment!!
Do you have a favorite bottled water that you drink on a daily basis? Not only that I purchase the cheap store brands, in Cleveland, I like drinking "Deer Park" or "Dasani" water. In Los Angeles, "Arrowhead" or "Nestlé" is the best to consume. On any upcoming trip to New York City, I would like to try "Trump Water" (featured on The Apprentice Season 1).

Week 7 (October 20th):
Seems there was a change made this week. The number of cases picked each round used to be 5-5-4-2-2-1-1-1, but this week it's been 5-5-4-3-2-1-1, so one round shorter.
The differences here is that with eight cases left, the contestant has to pick *three* cases instead of two. That hasn't really been an issue so far, as only 2 of 30 contestants in the first six weeks took the deal with six cases left. What does matter, though, is that with five cases left, the contestant has to pick *two* cases, meaning taking the deal with four cases left is no longer possible. In games with no safety net, I expect to see more people playing it safe and taking the deal with five cases left. This is kinda a bummer, since people had been taking more risks and going farther in the syndicated version than in the primetime version. Oh well...
[This appears to have been just a one-week thing, as they went back to the old format since then.]
The format change might have impacted the first four games this week. A couple contestants took early offers, one with five cases left and the other with eight. The other two opened the highest remaining case because they were unable to stop with four cases left.
The final contestant of the week played to the end and won the $100,000 in her case.

Week 8 (October 27th) ---- Halloween Week
Halloween Week... Deal or No Deal didn't have a Halloween episode this year, but the syndicated version did this week. The contestants were dressed in costume along with Tameka and Patricia as a black cat and french maid. The cases have candy bar designs on them and a skull replaces the box cover over the deal button.

Week 11 (November 17th) --- Military Week
The contestants were in uniform on Military Week. Colleen was the big winner with $88,000.
Colleen (Marine) on 11/19 declined the $44K bank offer with four cases left and $400 as the second-highest case. Colleen took the $88K deal with three cases left but her case #5 had $500K in it.
