I was just wondering if anybody on here was familiar with Groton CT. Seems like I saw someone was from CT. I have a cat show in Groton CT in Sept. It is exit 88 off I-95. I am from the Syracuse NY area. Mapquest is running me I-90 east to the MA Pike, thru MA, then down to CT. It also looks like I have to cross the Thames River. I wanted to know, is this a bridge, or a tunnel? I hate tunnels, lol, was hauling some horses to Long Island many years ago, got lost, and ended up in a tunnel, with traffic backed up, and water running down the sides. If there is a tunnel, I need to find an alternative route. Appreciate your help. Lisa

It's a bridge. (It's been a while since I've been on I-95 down there, but I'm completely positive.)

Thank you very much. I have never been to CT, and it says its 4 1/2 hrs, which means its really 5 1/2 hrs, and alot of route changes. I have learned to add 1 hr to MQ directions, lol. Was in Somerset NJ a few weeks ago, will have to put up pictures when I get a chance, and going to Springfield MA in 2 weeks. Lisa

If you like basketball, definitely check out the Hall of Fame in Springfield. It's a lot of fun there.

I never got into basketball, only when they get into March Madness, lol. But I appreciate the info. I am more into pro football, lol, gee, can ya tell. I went to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton OH once. That was way cool! I will be showing my cat all weekend, but will be looking for someplace to eat, Sat night. Will be staying at the Red Roof, in W Springfield, so will see whats around the area.

There is also Six Flags out that way as well but you kinda need a day just for that.

*nods* In Agawam. Although at that point in time, they might only be open on the weekends. (NOTE: Haven't been up there in about six years, so I don't 'member.)

I couldn't figure out how to reply to individual posts on here, lol, all I saw was the "reply" at the very bottom, of the last post. Thank you for the Restaurant link, I clicked on it, and it said there were no restaurants in the W Springfield area. Guess I am going to go hungry, lol, but I am sure Prowler would be glad to share some of his cat food. I do like all sports, my father was a big baseball fan. It moves to slow for me, but he always told me there is more stratagy in baseball, than football. He was a Miami Dolphins fan too. He even met Larry Csonka once. Never been to Six Flags, would love to go someday, ya, that would be an all day event, without the cat, don't think he would like the rides. Springfield will seem like a vacation, compared to the other shows I have been to, lol. Its only exit 4 off the Pike. Fitchburgh and Boxborough MA, were like exit 100+ off the Pike. And Fitchburgh was 9 hrs in a blizzard, back in Dec, and Boxborough was at least 7 hrs. OK, guys, find me someplace to eat in Springfield, lol, don't want to go hungry, or do McDonalds.

If you want to respond to certain parts of thread, you can use the quote option. That seems to work the best for me. (Side note - I know Fitchburg pretty well. My dad's family lived out that way for years.) Anyway...back to Springfield - Hrm, couldn't get Mandy's link to work either. Try this one: www.massmenus.com/Springfield.htmThe 99 is pretty good. It's a local chain with a variety of different things to eat. Their menu: www.99restaurants.com/features/menu/menu-starters.php

Hey, lol, not a problem. I appreciate you took the time to put it up for me. The new one works great. Thank you for putting it up. Looks like I will have alot of places to choose from. Was getting ready to pack extra cat food, lol. Ahhhhhhhh, Fitchburgh. One of my less pleasurable show experiences, lol. Should have been a 6 hr drive, it turned into 9 hrs. 690 thru Syracuse and I-90 east bound were not plowed, was following tracks, and it was snowing hard, real hard to see in some spots. But, never missed a show, cat or horse, that I was entered in. Nothing in Fitchburgh is marked, street wise, and the streets are narrow, and they have a zillion different ways to get on to one street. Reminded me of a maze, lol. I forget now where the show was, my best guess is , it was at a hotel convention center. The drive way was winding and long, and which ever way you turned, it was the wrong way. Got lost going to the hotel, think it was the Days Inn, that seemed to be in a mall, alot of turns, and nothing is marked. Called from the show, to ask directions, the guy had a heavy accent, and barely spoke english, didn't seem to comprehend it, lol. He told me the wrong way to get to my room. I am wandering around in the freeeeeezzzzzzing cold, trying to find my room, carrying my cat, who is crying now. They had 2 floors, all doors on the outside. Finally found my room, called the guy, asked for another pillow and blanket. He finally calls me back, after what seemed hrs, and said go outside your room, I was on the 2nd floor, I go out, he is standing below, with the pillow and blanket, and throws them up to me, lol. Sun morn, woke up, and they had about an inch of snow. Everybody was freeking out, lol, I told them, this is nothing, compared to what I went thru, people sliding all over the place. Gee, what the heck do you guys do, when it really snows. Yup, lol, Fitchburgh was quite the experience. Was very glad to go home. I can look back now and laugh about it. Sorry this got so long, lol, I though you might enjoy the story. Thanks again for the restaurant link.
