DoND is up for the People's Choice Award for best game show. It's up against Jeopardy and Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? They have a little 'widget' you can put on your website/blog whatever to put out the word too. I've posted the link to it here since I don't think the code works here... www.pcavote.com/pca/widgetwizard.jsp?optionId=3044&pollId=2015

Picking A Case
Was once the beautiful Case #9, but then who knows. NBC might bring back the primetime version.

Why didn't Millionaire, Wheel, TPIR, Lyrics and Bee make the list for People's Choice? They're all great shows.
Anyway, there are too many categories for each group in the entertainment industry that I didn't get to finish all my choices.

Isn't there some sort of preliminary voting that takes place to decide who or what the nominees are in each category? If so, that would explain it.

I think there has to be. The only categories that seemed not to be narrowed down were the ones for the new comedies and dramas.

I put my vote in on the PCA website back in November for "Deal or No Deal" as well as a few other entertainment categories. The last time I remember watching the PCA was only one time back in the 1980s, and the special was still on CBS. Honestly, I'm not too keen on any awards shows that air on TV nowadays, but at a time like this, I'm glad that this "People's Choice Awards" program, that aired on CBS, made it past the strike affecting the Writers Guild of America. With the strike continuing in Hollywood, expect a low-key version of this year's "Golden Globes" awards ceremony which will air on NBC this Sunday night.
On Tuesday, I didn't know that this special, the PCA, was on. After watching "Jeopardy!," I turned the TV off. I was just bored that night, did a few things around the house and even played the DoND DVD Game (which I got for my b-day) a few times. Did anybody watch the moment when "Deal or No Deal" won in the Game Show category? What happened?
BTW, congrats to "Deal or No Deal" on their PCA win.

I did see it. It was kinda funny. At one point, Howie answers a question sent into the PCA site. The question was, "What's your favorite moment on the show?" Howie answered, "8:14."
All the models looked confused and he explained, "Well, the question asked for a particular moment." Then he paused and joked, "See this is the part of the show you don't see - me explaining the jokes to the models."
(The dialogue above isn't exact, by the way. Just the gist of it. *g*)

I didn't watch; and I can't find anything on Youtube. I don't imagine much happened. Most of it was pre-recorded (mainly due to the Writer's Guild strike). Edited to add I found out through the message boards at Television Without Pity that Howie accepted the award for DOND during taping, in front of his audience.forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showtopic=3163949&st=0
