I found this news about DoND on GameShowNewsNet.com, Reuters.com, Buzzerblog.com and TVgameshows.net. Howie Mandel, finally, just signed to host a daily syndicated version of his hit NBC game show, "Deal or No Deal" slated for the fall 2008 season. Yes, he's going to do double-duty. Don't know how, but it will work!! You can click on these links above for the articles regarding this show's launch into syndication.

Triple-duty, if more episodes of the Canadian version are made. (I've not heard anything, though.)

Triple-duty, if more episodes of the Canadian version are made. (I've not heard anything, though.) Oh thanks, Shelly!! I forgot about the Canadian version, also hosted by Howie Mandel, titled "Deal or No Deal Canada," which is taped in Toronto, Ont. I, myself, watched ALL 5 of these eps on YouTube.com. So the fall 2008 season might be a busy year for Howie; the usual NBC primetime version (2 nights a week), a daily syndicated version (check local listings) & if more eps are made, possibly DOND Canada (on Global, only for Canadian residences; for the U.S., it's YouTube.com). Pile that w/ Howie's visits to "The Tonight Show" and other daytime/late-night talk shows too!!

Okay!! Here's the latest scoop about the syndicated version of "Deal or No Deal" set to debut in the Fall 2008 on most, but not all, NBC affiliated stations. I found this information from TVgameshows.net (a weekly game show news magazine created by Steve Beverly) website. Hopefully, this version might be paired up w/ another brand new NBC-owned game show called "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" (hosted by Ty Treadway and created by the late-great Merv Griffin).
Duration of program: daily (Monday - Friday); 30 minutes per episode
Time of day that the show will air: since it's syndication, check your local listings for time & channel; possibly in the daytime or mid-afternoon
Top prize: $250,000 $500,000 instead of the usual $1,000,000
Money table w/ the $250,000 $500,000 top prize: n/a, but I assume that the penny will still be there as the lowest amount on the board, the upper-most amount on the left column
Number of models & briefcases: instead of the usual 26, possibly might be cut to 20 or 22, and that is what I'm predicting at this time; for now, no information has been provided

I read about it, quite awhile ago, in Globe magazine, (kinda along the lines of the Enquirer) I never saw anything else about it, not in any of the magazines, not even in TV Guide. So whats up with that?? I was beginning to think it was made up.

If the top prize is $250,000, and there are 22 cases, it might become a similar board to ours, perhaps replacing the 10p and 50p with other small amounts such as $75.

Correction
The NBC-owned new game show "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" will debut this fall starting w/ a network series preview on September 10th which will be shown on NBC primetime before moving into daily syndication. Check your local listings for time and channel.
If "Crosswords" does well for the 2007-08 season, and ends up w/ a second season in the fall 2008, the syndicated version of "Deal or No Deal" will debut and possibly be paired up with this freshman game show for the 2008-09 season.

Another Correction Regarding "Crosswords"
Speaking of the upcoming new game show, "Crosswords," the latest news came this past weekend after reading Game Show NewsNet. First I mentioned about an NBC preview for Saturday, Sept. 8 of this new show before airing NBC's Fall TV Preview special. Well, there will be no preview airing of "Crosswords" on that night, but will premier in syndication w/ host Ty Treadway on September 10. A repeat of any edition of "Most Outrageous Moments" (which is BTW a boring show and they show too many repeats) will replace the preview airing.
In fall 2008, "Crosswords" will possibly be paired w/ a new 30-minute syndicated version of the Howie Mandel game show, "Deal or No Deal" and will be show daily.

From Buzzerblog and Game Show NewsNet news that I read about, the official number of models and briefcases for the upcoming fall 2008 syndicated version is 22.
