Vas o No Vas is the Mexican version of the International hit. The show made its debut on Saturday, September 4, 2004 as a weekly Saturday version on XEW channel 2, in the Fall of 2004, the show expanded in to an hour-long daily version airs everyday at 3p which replaced 100 Mexicanos Dijeron. The host of both versions is Hector Sandarti.
Nighttime version rules:
The object of the game is to pick out the case that has the top prize of 5,000,000 pesos. Before the case has it or not, he or she must open 6 cases in the 1st round and so on. After the number of cases are opened, the played will be tempted with an offer for he or she to stop the game. If they decided to take the offer in the end, it's theirs to keep. But if they reject the offer, more cases must be opened in order to hear the next offer. The more low amounts opened, the better on how much the bank offering them. If there are any high amounts are opened, the offer will be depening on how much the bank will offer the player. There are a total of 26 cases held by 26 models. Whenever a new offer comes up, a model in a banker outfit comes out with the case as the men in the audience whistles at her.
Daily version rules:
Same rules apply like the nighttime version except the word game face-off. In this version, there are 20 boxes held by a civilian member representing themselves from all over Mexico. Some boxes do have cash prizes and some have some joke prizes. After the box is chosen by a contestant, it's theirs to keep. Before opening the chosen box, a number of boxes must be opened before hearing the offer & it depends on the high amounts, low amounts and joke prizes being eliminated. Same as the nighttime version that they can stop the game after taking the offer, the daily version's top prize is 1,000,000 pesos. If that box has the top prize, that person wins the million.
So far since the show began, 3 people won the top prize: Elena of Distrito Federal (Federal District) became the 1st player who won the 5,000,000 pesos & in the daily version, Luis from the state of Jalisco became the 1st person to win the million in the daily version and now Laura from the state of Guerrero is the 2nd person to win the million after turning down a record 700,000 pesos and switched boxes in the end.
Three other people from the nighttime version found the top prize & turned away from it after hearing the offer which it was over 1 million. Several people ended up with some low amounts, but none won any joke prizes.
