Since the official Banker's Blog updates just now and then...I thought it might be fun to continue our own creative version of it. (I asked Mandy about making this a separate thread so it wouldn't be confused with the official blog entries.) If anyone else wants to write their own faux blog entry, go for it. Just so they're all together, a repost of the first one I did: (The Banker visits his therapist) So, I have been referred to a therapist in regards to my...shall we say, 'lack of people skills.'
I really don't get why I'm doing this. I already have studied enough psychology that I could diagnose myself. And yet here I am in the office of Dr. Patience Price. Dear Lord, is that a stage name or did her parents know what the h*** she was going to do with her life from minute one?
But I disgress...
Patience is a...shall I say...bubbly woman, to put it lightly. (She's in all honestly an over-caffienated Care Bear, okay?)
And so our session begins...
"So you were referred to me by-" she began.
"I know why I'm here, thank you very much," I scoffed.
She actually smiled in reply. And then in a sing-song voice added, "Well, of course you do. Let's just get started." She then cleared her throat.
"I don't like people much. I realize that's what you're gonna say. May I go now?" I quickly asked, hoping she wasn't going to start talking in baby talk or something.
"Well that's just step one. You've realized your problem and that's a good thing. But still-"
I glared at my watch. "Oh look at the time. I have to be at the studio in a few minutes." I got to my feet.and headed for the door.
"Oh that's quite all right. I ran over with a few patients today so I'm sure that-"
I opened the door and Dr. Price quickly added, "Next Thursday is our next session. I'm expecting you to be here."
"With bells on," I retorted, slamming the door.

Okay, so I decided to do a Banker's viewpoint of last night's (the 10/09/06's) episode. And...I didn't think it would be that long but it kinda is. I think with NaNoWriMo coming up, my mind is in short fic mode or something... ^_^; *gulp*
But here we go:
There are certain moments in life when you have a feeling that something wonderful is about to happen. And then there are moments when you're filled with dread, fearing the worst.
For a Deal or No Deal contestant, the game offers such feelings to interchange at a moment's notice.
Let's take last night's show, shall we?
Our returning contestant was named Adalis. Her board looked great for her, awful for me.
To recap, what she had left on her board:
$75 $300 $500 $750 $10,000 $50,000 $75,000 $300,000 $500,000 $750,000 $1,000,000
Four huge amounts of money left. I grabbed my forehead, certain a major migrane was about to overtake me.
(And don't even think about making a joke referencing that evil HeadOn product. I mean it!)
Where was I? Oh yes...
Adalis picked 3 cases knocking out $75, then $50,000 and finally $500.
Not one six+ figure case! That meant my offer had to be awfully high and it was. ($196,000 to be exact.)
And now we have her husband on satelite feed telling her not to take it. Fine, it's your funeral.
Adalis listens to him and plays on. She picks Case 5 and it is revealed that inside is... $1,000,000!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahem. Sorry...got a bit carried away there.
Moving on...the next case picked held $10,000. (Oh joy.)
So, at this point, even though she knocked out the million she STILL HAD 3 cases with six figure amounts in them. My offer couldn't go down too drastically due to that unsettling fact.
Up comes my still VERY generous offer of $155,000. But she turns it down.
Somewhere between my blood pressuring spiking and Adalis trying to be cute by talking Spanish to me (just don't try that again. EVER. Same goes for you, Howie.) the $750,000, the $75,000 and the $300,000 case are removed from play.
So suddenly, the odds are in MY favor should Ms. Greedy decide to play on. But, given she has a 1 out of 3 shot at taking away the half million, she probably will settle on the Deal. I offer $97,000. She asks her hubby for advice and he says she should do what she wants.
That's not advice; that's indecision. And Adalis decides on her own so I guess we know who wears the pants in that family. She decides to play on.
Wait...excuse me?! Play on?!
Now zoom in our two remaining models, Lisa and Hayley Marie. Their cheerful smiles are now timid grins and you can almost hear them both thinking, "Please don't pick me!"
Neither of them wants to be the possible bearer of bad news, of course. Adalis' in studio support gives her the brillant advice that she shouldn't pick Lisa because Lisa was...I forget which relation, but shared the name as one of them. So by that logic, it was Lisa's case with the big money. Which made me ponder why they didn't pick Lisa's case to begin with, mind you.
Adalis goes with her support team's 'brilliant advice.' Therefore, Adalis called upon Hayley Marie and that model truly afraid to open that briefcase. Adalis and her in studio family have all huddled on the floor, fearing the worst. Howie offers that Hayley Marie can join them if she wishes. She does and bolts down the stairs.
So Howie goes and takes the case, bringing it towards the huddled, cowering ladies. I thought he was going to open it, sparing Hayley Marie from having to do so. But no, he still says she has to open her case.
Howie? I thought I was the evil one on this show. You basically told the model to open Pandora's Box. (Or you might as well have.)
Of course, there WAS a 2 out of 3 shot that all the jitters would be for nothing and therefore my offer would have to YET AGAIN go up.
A bit of stalling and finally the case is opened revealing...
$500,000!

VICTORY WAS MINE! Ooh... An interesting story. Hell, this could be what the Banker was thinking the entire time. You never know. (I was also waiting for Lisa to join them on the floor as well.)

Well, I can't take credit for the story, just the...narration, I guess? ^_^; But the fact that you thought it sounded on the idea of what The Banker might be thinking...erm...should I be scared that I have an evil muse? ^_^; Yeah, I had wondered if Lisa was gonna book it too. I did feel a bit bad for Haley Marie, especially after Howie still said she had to open her case (thus the 'I thought I was the evil one' comment).

That was kind of evil. I was like "Oh no... what are you doing?", and I think the Banker sensed that too in his offers.

Nate and I were chatting on Yahoo! last night during the show, although we didn't go into too much detail about Hayley Marie and the whole "you have to open this case" business Howie emphasized. If not the contestant and her support, I feel sorry for Hayley Marie.

I didn't feel bad for Adalis really. I think she just was foolish. But Hayley Marie I did feel badly for though.
Side note...I uh...sent one of these little drabbles to a little writing community on LiveJournal. And the mod liked it so...I got an invite to join. ^_^; So, if anyone wants to know the journal name, just let me know.

Hayley actually opened the case next to the family! That's just cruel by Howie, especially with Hayley having to open it.

Definitely.
If I may move ahead to the next episode, I don't think The Banker liked PJ at all. But given how well she was doing...

Okay...here it is: (It's kinda long! And there's a mild spoiler for tonight's episode in there too.) cynical-shadow.livejournal.com/3907.html(If you want to reply to the entry as if you're replying to Banker, go ahead and have fun. Nope, you don't need a LJ account to do it.)

Thanks Neko and Mandy! Glad you enjoyed it! ^_^;
Say Mandy, mind if I friend you on my actual LJ account? (It's also kyranthia.)
There are a couple of other entries over at that cynical_shadow LJ if you want to read them as well. (Any of the numbered ones are the assigned topics from theatrical_muse. But they tie into the show too.)
Yeah, I thought it was kinda funny how disgusted Nicole looked after the Banker had asked for a kiss.
Although...if anyone was ever that brave...(read: insane) enough to actually say 'yes' to kissing him, would he really risk someone seeing what he looked like for a smooch?

Sure. Go right ahead. (Note that I really should update the damn thing once a month, let alone once a week. I've slacked there big time.)

I update mine whenever I feel like it. Usually a couple times a month, depending on what the heck is going on in my life. Okay, I added ya.
