I think this question is ambiguous. For instance, if lets call all of the male siblings M and all of the females F. In order of age from oldest to youngest: M1 M2 F3 F4 F5. This instance works with F3 being the third oldest and the third youngest daughter. The answer here is 5. M1 M2 F3 F4 F5 M6. This instance works as well, as F3 is still the third oldest and is also still the third youngest daughter. The answer here is 6.
And if you find some flaw in my logic and the question stays the same, I'll guess 5.

Let's throw that question out and give you another question. I didn't realize the ambiguosity in that question. The answer would have been five.
Nevertheless, you still need to answer this question correctly Alex, otherwise Shelly will take the moolah, leaving you with not a single penny to your name. So, to force a Sudden Death, Alex:
In sports history, the infamous 1994 Stanley Cup Riot occured as a result of the Game 7 outcome between which two professional hockey teams?

Well, it's a shame that my Canucks didn't win that game. Anyways, you're correct. And after five questions, the scores are tied. So now, we go into a sudden death situation. Questions will continue to be asked alternately. If one of you gets your question right, the other will have to answer correctly to stay in the game. Otherwise, they lose and leave with nothing. So, Shelly and Alex, $10,000 is at stake. Let's play Sudden Death!
Shelly, what Hawaiian instrument, when translated into the native tongue, means "jumping flea" in English?

That is the correct answer.
Alex, in Chinese history, the Xinhai Revolution in 1911 marked the end of Chinese dynasties, the last dynasty called what name?

No, the correct answer is Qing. That means Shelly, you are this game's Strongest Link, and you go away with $10,000. Alex, you, on the other hand, leave with nothing. Join us again for the Weakest Link. Goodbye! ___________________________ Thanks guys for playing! It was a great game. If you'd like to play again, let me know, and I'll be more than happy to host. I would be even more happier if more people played.

Winner's Wall: Shelly: $10,000
I've decided to start the game again, and I'd like for a minimum of six players to play. I've also added a new incentive. The more people who play, the bigger the cash jackpot. If I only get five players, the prize is the regular $50,000. However, if there are nine people who sign up, the prize money is $500,000, possibly even $1,000,000 if people sign up quickly. So, anyone up?
5 players: $50,000 6 players: $100,000 7 players: $200,000 8 players: $400,000 9 players: $500,000 ($1,000,000)
